April of The 21st Century Housewife and I would like to welcome you to our weekend blog hop: Gallery of Favorites!

This week April and I are pleased to feature our friend and Hearth and Soul Hop co-host, Swathi of Zesty South Indian Kitchen.
Swathi is a stay-at home mom of two children. and I enjoy trading stories of our mischievous children! She was lucky to grow up around good cooks like her mom, grandma and aunts and enjoys recreating the traditional recipes of her childhood.
Last week Swathi shared Nazook Armenian Pastry and an Armenian Nutmeg Cake, which are both great examples of her desire to experiment with international recipes.

Swathi often shares recipes and stories of her childhood growing up in India. On Diwali (the Festival of Lights) she shared her recipe for Mullu Murukku, which is an intricate crispy fried rice treat.

Swathi really enjoys baking. Even though it is difficult with two little ones “helping out”, she some how manages to repeatedly turn out lovely and delicious baked goods like the above Whole Wheat Sandwich Bread.

Michelle shared a dynamic duo: Cajun cooking and Cajun music! The Shrimp & Andouille Baked Potatoes is an amazing combination of shrimp & andouille jambalaya which she turned into a tasty sauce and poured over a baked potato. You are going to find delicious Louisiana recipes when you visit Ms. enPlace. Michelle also co-hosts See Ya in the Gumbo Potluck.

She shares her triumphs, failures, and her bulldog Rosie provides comic relief. And when she takes a night off from cooking and discovers a new foodie gem in Seattle, she shares a review. This week we are featuring two delicious recipes that both use alcohol as an ingredient: Dubbel Dark Chocolate Cake with Dark Chocolate Ganache which uses Guinness and Irish Cream Blondies with Raspberry Swirl which uses Bailey’s.

Laureen from Fox in the Kitchen gave a guinness cake a makeover and created a delicious gluten-free Dubbel Dark Chocolate Cake with Dark Chocolate Ganache.

Cindy from Hun…What’s For Dinner? added Irish Cream to her blondie recipe and then swirled raspberry jelly through the batter to create her Irish Cream Blondies with Raspberry Swirl.

April of The 21st Century Housewife and I would like to welcome you to our weekend blog hop: Gallery of Favorites! This week we are featuring the lovely Rapunzel Cake from Trilogy Edibles:

Isn’t it amazing? Karen shares exactly how she made this gorgeous cake. She takes you through it step by step. She shares the near disasters, her fixes, and tips. My favorite tip: “Don’t sweat the small stuff. You may see the flaws but no one else does”. You need to  visit Trilogy Edibles to see how Karen made this cake and the cookies she made for the guests instead of making “loot bags”.
