Peppermint Bark is easy to make. It only requires 3 ingredients and there are no candy thermometers involved.
Ingredients
12 oz. semisweet chocolate pieces
12 oz. white chocolate pieces
½ cup crushed candy canes ( 6 -8 candy canes)
Directions
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Melt semisweet chocolate pieces in the microwave according to the directions on the package.
Spread melted chocolate out on the parchment paper.
Place baking sheet in the freezer for 30 minutes.
Crush candy canes while the semisweet chocolate is freezing.
Melt white chocolate pieces in the microwave according to the directions on the package.
Spread melted white chocolate out on top of the dark chocolate.
Sprinkle crushed candy canes over the top of the white chocolate while the white chocolate is still soft. Press the candy cane pieces into the white chocolate using a spatula.
Place baking sheet in the freezer for 30 minutes.
Remove the bark from the freezer and break into pieces.
Store in an airtight container.
Notes
This makes a little over 1½ pounds and could easily be divided between two gift tins.
