April had an opportunity to interview Karen Benner when she visited New York this summer. In the interview, Karen told April that Taste of Home wanted ‘Best Loved Recipes’ to be totally accessible and include recipes that would, for the most part, contain items most people would already have in their pantries.
April asked Karen what her favorite recipe was from the cookbook. Karen told her about the Cranberry Orange Cake and said “there was a very heart warming ambiance to the cake”. April made the cake from her advance copy of the cookbook.

Pretty amazing cake, isn’t it? Of course, April put her own touch on the recipe and added a lovely glaze.

Raspberry Ripple Cake
Last week, Vicky of Gluten Free SCD and Veggie shared her Grain Free Raspberry Ripple Cake, a recipe worthy of being included in a “Best Loved” collection! It is a gorgeous cake with raspberry glaze not only topping it, but running through it.
The Gallery of Favorites is a place for you to feature your favorite posts from your own blog. Although April and I both spend a lot of our time writing about food, we do have many other interests and we know our readers do as well. The Gallery of Favorites is a place for all bloggers – not just food bloggers – to share their ideas, interests and passions.

Alea, I linked my plantain cashew nutella wonton.
Oh I remember that raspberry cake from last week – amazing cake! April’s Cranberry orange cake looks pretty amazing as well! Thank you ladies for hosting this wonderful hop! Have a marvelous weekend!
Happy Friday!!
I’m new here and this is my first time posting to this site. My post is number 22 and it’s for Kimchi. I mistakenly put MY name under the pic instead of the name of the recipe.
Anyway, Kimchi is a Korean form of Sauerkraut. It’s lacto-fermented and is good for digestive health as it provides probiotics and enzymes to promote digestive health. It compliments virtually anything it’s served with and makes a refreshing summer salad. I eat it in place of coleslaw. Hope you all enjoy!!
Thanks for hosting. That orange cranberry cake looks really tasty. I enjoy that flavour combination.
I’ve linked my Blackberry Chocolate Upside Down Cake this week. It’s proved a popular recipe at my house. I ended up making it twice within just a few days! I hope you enjoy it too.
Thank you for the lovely mention
Sorry I haven’t shared anything this week:(
Hi Alea – it was so funny that you posted to FB about folks googling tomatoes – I had just shot my “going into the freezer” tomatoes pic the day before and was getting the light set up for the frozen ones for my post. I guess it’s that time – August with a garden = what do I do with all this stuff? (I’m headed to the senior center with a boatload of squash).
