As I’ve been married 50 years & started cooking as a child on a farm I don’t remember what I first cooked. Now I’m starting to teach my 11 year old grandson to cook. This book would be a wonderful help with that!

I think the first thing I made was cake from a mix when I was about 9 yo, but I can remember not long after that baking cake from scratch and substituting ingredients that we didn’t have. Somehow it all ended up alright, although I didn’t really know what I was doing at the time.
