Saturday Blogging: A Few Resources to Increase Productivity

Saturday Blogging

As a mommy blogger it is important to remember that you actually have to have a life or you won’t have anything to blog about. The problem is that as your blog grows it takes up more and more of your time. If you aren’t careful you can end up stuck behind a computer believing you have nothing to write about, while your children stare at your back and your husband laments that he is a blogging widower…not that that has ever happened in my house.

Below are a few resources that allow you to increase your productivity, so you can spend less time behind your computer and more time enjoying your life.

How to Speed up the Commenting Process An article about a resource that you can add to Firefox to auto fill name, blog and email on comment forms.

Use Email Templates to Clear Your Inbox Two ideas for implementing templates to quickly respond to some of those emails sitting in your inbox.

For some time I have thought about creating a Facebook page but I kept putting it off because I wanted to learn more before I did. The problem is there are only 24 hours in a day. I have bookmarked many resources for creating a great Facebook site, but quite honestly haven’t had the time to become thoroughly familiar with the content. Then I realized I didn’t wait until I knew how to blog, before I began. I learned as I tweeted on twitter. And I’m still figuring out Stumble. So today I decided to go ahead and just create a plain garden variety Facebook page for Premeditated Leftovers. It doesn’t have all of the bells and whistles right now, but I am sure I will catch on and figure out how to add them in time.

Facebook advice I will follow when I have the time:

But perhaps, I will follow this tutorial to create my own button with code first.

Is there something you are putting off trying? What’s stopping you?

Alea, I know what you mean. Learn it all first or jump in? I'm considering joining a site like Etsy or Artfire but it seems overwhelming. I don't want to spend my time dealing with the computer instead of creating art!
