½ pound Ahi tuna steak (Look for this at your local grocer or fish market. Make sure it is defrosted before you begin.)
3 Tablespoons of black sesame seeds (You can find these in the spice aisle at your local grocer)
3 Tablespoons of white sesame seeds
Sea Salt
Olive oil
Optional: Mayo soy sauce and wasabi
Directions
In a large bowl, add the black and white sesame seeds as well as a pinch of salt. Stir.
Coat the entire outside of the tuna by pressing it into the sesame seeds until the steak is coated.
Now, preheat your pan to a medium-high heat
Coat the bottom of the pan with oil.
Take your sesame coated tuna and place it in the hot pan carefully. The oil will splatter a bit.
Sear it for about 45 seconds on all sides. Remove the tuna from heat and set aside.
On your plate put a small ramekin of soy sauce, wasabi, or even mayo. You can mix your mayo with a little soy or sriracha sauce to add some zest if you wish.
Slice the tuna up into thin slices and serve as shown!
