Rinse the green beans and trim off the tail of each end.
Bring a small to medium pot of water to a boil and use a basket steamer to steam the green beans for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
In a small skillet, add the olive oil and toss the green beans over medium heat for 3 minutes.
Add the pesto and toss again so the green beans are completely covered. Heat for 3 more minutes and add the sliced almonds. Toss again and completely mix the almonds into the green beans and pesto. Remove from heat and serve.
