Ingredients
  • 8 - 12 slices of bread (use gluten-free bread to make gluten-free croutons)
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon thyme or sage
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
  2. Lay bread on a large baking sheet. Brush the tops with olive oil. Then sprinkle with spices.
  3. Flit the pieces of bread over. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle remaining spices over the bread.
  4. Use a pizza cutter to quickly slice the bread into cubes.
  5. Toss the cube bread to evenly distribute the spices. Then lay flat on the baking sheet.
  6. Bake at 450 degrees for 5 –8 minutes or until they are toasty brown, tossing the croutons every 2 – 3 minutes. I leave the croutons on the baking sheet to cool.
  7. Place the pan in the center of the oven. Bake at 450 degrees for 5 - 8 minutes or until they are brown.
  8. Toss every 2 -3 minutes to prevent the croutons from burning.
  9. Use as called for in recipes.
