You can get free items from companies in exchange for reviewing their product. Here's how to review products to save money.
When I first started blogging, I started off reviewing products on my site. It was fun and it was great to save money by reviewing products. Amazon used to allow people to do product reviews for independent sellers as long as they disclosed but they no longer allow paid or even ‘free' reviews for items sold on their site. This can make it a little bit more time-consuming for those that just want to review products for the items and to save a little money for their home by not having to buy the items they review. This doesn't mean it's impossible, though! Here are some tips on the basics on how to review products to save money.
How to Review Products to Save Money
Make sure you create active and nice looking social media profiles – No matter how you plan on getting products to review, nearly every avenue and company will want to see you sharing their products with others. They want to see that you are decently active and that they can count on you to share. Each company likes to use certain platforms for certain products, so this may mean you will need to create accounts on several sites. The most popular social media sites for reviews are Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Sign up to give your opinions on survey sites – Many survey sites are now offering products to review in exchange for your opinion and in some cases, they even pay a little something to do it. Sites like Survey Junkie, Toluna and OneOpinion are some of the best sites for this.
Join sites that send you free products just for your thoughts and shares– There are sites out there that exist just to find consumers to test out their newest items. These are usually from nationally recognized brands and include items like shampoo, makeup, pet food, and even food and snacks. Good ones to join are Crowdtap, influenster, and BzzAgent.
Vlogging can be a good way to review – While it can certainly be more time consuming than simple tasks on review sites, Video Blogging (known as Vlogging) is a fun way to do reviews. You will need a bit of knowledge about uploading and taking videos, but you can place them on sites like YouTube and get some higher priced items and even get paid if you do well. This option isn't for everyone though, because it will obviously require you to be comfortable in front of the camera; however, more and more companies are looking for video reviews.
Consider running a blog for product reviews if you have more time– The final way I want to mention to get started on reviewing products is by blogging. It is a great way to get items to review, but keep in mind it can be expensive to run and has an upfront cost of buying a domain and hosting package. Additionally, it can be very time-consuming.
