My sister observed my son tearing apart my kitchen cupboards and insisted that he needed a kitchen of his own. I thought it was ridiculous to spend a lot of money on something I wasn't sure he would even use. Succumbing to a sisterly guilt trip, I decided if I could find one for under $20.00 I would buy it and added it to my thrift store/garage sale list. I keep a list of items that I am looking for with the top price I am willing to pay. The list helps to keep me focused when bargain hunting, so I don't waste money on “great deals” that I don't need. Not that Rew really needed a play kitchen, but it did end up on the list.
I found the above pictured kitchen at the Goodwill for $14.99. The oven door was taped closed, when I got home and opened it up I found a toaster and a dish set! My son loves it, but it doesn't keep him from pulling all of the pots and pans out of my cupboards.
