56th Annual Camel and Ostrich Races
9/11 thru 9/13
Each year, jockeys try and maneuver camels, ostriches and zebras through a race around the track in historic Virginia City. Those that watch may get a side cramp from laughing as they cheer. At the end of the day, join the Camel Hump to C Street but be careful for thirsty camels may duck into a bar to quench their thirst.

Driver’s Edge is a free half-day program for teen drivers (ages 15-21 with a valid license or permit) that teach real life emergency avoidance and response techniques and overall driver safety. Drivers Edge is taught by true driving professionals through a unique combination of behind the wheel and classroom experiences. Professional racing drivers and professional performance driving instructors from some of the world’s most famous and respected driving schools will instruct teens in evasive lane change maneuvers, ABS braking exercises, panic braking and skid control instruction. Drivers Edge was specifically developed to address the unacceptably high number of youth related automobile collisions and fatalities that occur each year.

52nd National Championship Air Races
9/16 thru 9/20
Come to the high desert of northern Reno where hundreds of aircraft, their pilots and crews race in the sky. The event features six racing classes, large displays of static aircraft and several military and civil flight demonstrations.
General admission ticket prices are their most affordable on Wednesday at Thursday.
