Grilled Honey Mustard Chicken and Potatoes

We’ve been having August temperatures since June. I have tried to sell my family on the advantages of eating a cold cereal for dinner without any luck, so I have turned to my trusty old grill to help me feed my family without turning my kitchen into a kiln. I shared my compromise,  Grilled Honey Mustard Chicken and Potatoes, on $5 dinners this evening.

Here are some more recipes that you can cook on the grill:

Grilled Chicken and Vegetable Fajitas – how I sneak in extra veggies.

Tips for Grilling Vegetables

Grilled Ratatouille – Plus tips for getting your kids to eat Ratatouille.

Grilled Curry Steak with Lentils

What is your favorite recipe to cook on the grill?

We just got a new grill over a week ago which we’ve been enjoying very much. Dh texted me yesterday afternoon to find out what was for dinner. When I said sausages, he offered to grill them. Who could say no?

We got a grill with a rotisserie and a smoker. The smoker can also serve as an oven in a pinch. Now to get used to making stuff on the grill again.

The bank that holds the note on the house messed up the paperwork so it has been delayed…again! We are living in a house of boxes and waiting.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
