10 Best Free Homeschool Resources: Build a great homeschool with free printables, apps, and lesson plans. Games and fun places to visit are also included.

These are some of the very best free homeschool resources you will find. We love being able to use free resources to expand our homeschool curriculum. While some of these do involve the cost of printing items, or even a bit of gas to drive to a location, they are still much more cost effective than other full-priced curriculum. These ideas will help you build a great homeschool classroom for your children this year.

10 Best Free Homeschool Resources

Easy Peasy Homeschool: This website is one of the most popular sites around for homeschool curriculum. The All-In-One Easy Peasy Homeschool curriculum was created by a homeschooler for all ages and grades. You can pick and choose subjects, grade levels or simply individual lessons to print and use. Each lesson also includes information on supplemental books as needed.

Teachers Pay Teachers: This is another great site to check out for free printable supplements, unit studies, and curriculum. While many items are for sale, you can check out their daily free deals to grab as needed.

Educents: While this site has tons of curriculum for sale, they are known for amazing free deals on printables on a regular basis. Sign up and watch for those free deals to arrive in your inbox a few times a month. This is also a great place to grab discounted curriculum and supplies.

NASA Smartphone App: There is so much amazing information on this free smartphone app available in the Google Play store. From information about NASA programs and missions, to basic astronomy and information about our solar system, you’ll have many great resource for science classes.

National Park Services: Check out the national park websites for countless hours of videos, information, maps, and more regarding various national parks that are historical and educational. If you live near a national park you can also buy a low cost annual pass to visit and explore on a regular basis.

Public Library: Your local public library may be the best free resource you will find. Public libraries offer thousands of books, encyclopedias, and magazines.  Many even schedule great educational classes and group meetings for free.  You can’t go wrong with grabbing a library card and heading out to visit your library.

Khan Academy: Whether you use the smartphone app or the website, Khan Academy is the best of the best in mathematics help. Great tutorials, worksheets, review, and curriculum can be found for free and all in one place to help your child excel in math.

ABCya: This website is a great resource for busywork for younger grades. It is basically set up with great games that are educational and fun for kids. It is a wonderful resource for your preschool and early grade levels to review phonics and number and letter recognition.

Typing.com: This website is perfect for getting your kids familiar with a keyboard. Years ago a typing class was optional, but in today’s business world it is necessary to know your way around a keyboard with ease. Start your kids early with this typing tutor for free.

AcademicEarth: This is an amazing resource with tons of free online courses and videos to include or use as backup in your homeschool classroom. It’s simply a great site full of information for anyone, not just children, to enjoy reading and learning from.

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
