Allermates Allergy braceletsIf your kids have allergies or food sensitivities, it can be difficult for them to communicate just what they can and can’t have, depending on their age. I  was filled with both fear and pride as I overheard my 6 year old try to explain to his Sunday school teacher that he couldn’t have gluten. I was close by and could intervene if needed, but I wanted him to have something to help for when I am not around.  AllerMates Allergy Braceletscan serve as a tool to remind teachers and friends what your child is allowed to eat, and what they must avoid.

AllerMates have some great products made to help aid  your child let everyone know just what their allergies are.  You can buy them in bundles, or by the piece.  They come in cute little wrist bands, lunch bags, stickers and labels, or even medicine bags.

There are bands for peanut, gluten, egg, tree nut, dairy, and even shellfish allergies.  They’re all really cute, and what kid doesn’t like to wear cute wrist bands?  Prices for the bracelets start at $5.00 on Amazon, though you can also find them .  You can also buy “charm bracelets for kids with multiple food allergies or sensitivities.

Keeping your kids safe is important, and having a great colorful way to show everyone what they cannot have is a great way to do that.

Have you heard of AllerMates?  If so, let me know what you think!

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
