Chicken-Alfredo-Pizza-with-Broccoli
One of our favorite  family activities is Pizza and Game Night. When our schedules allow, we try to do this once a week. It is a great way for us to connect and spend quality time together. When my oldest kids were in high school, I tried to throw one game night a month for them and their friends.

Sometimes I make one of our favorite pizzas like Chicken Alfredo Pizza with Broccoli or Chicken and Artichoke Pizza. Other times, I make gluten-free pizza dough, my easy pizza sauce, and let everyone make their own pizza. After we have finished our pizza, we pick out a couple  of our favorite games to play, and then follow the games with dessert.

I found a couple of coupons for our favorite games:

I love Jenga because everyone can play it. You don’t have to be able to read, so even little ones can join in. And the rules are simple so my grandma was able to play it even when her Alzheimer’s was quite advanced.

My husband and I are quite competitive when it comes to scrabble and are not above trash talking, but it is all in good fun.

Catch Phrase is a great game to play when you have a large group or at the beginning of a game night when you are waiting for guests to arrive because guests can easily be added to one of the teams once they get there.

$4.00 off any one SCRABBLE Game

We have banned our two oldest kids from being on the same team when playing Taboo – they are that good! One word, that often appears to be completely unrelated to the one they are supposed to guess, and the other one can guess the answer correctly. It is an incredible testament to their friendship, which does my heart good, even when they are thoroughly trouncing us.

Pictionary often leaves us in giggles. We might not have a clue what the other person is trying to draw, but we always have tons of fun guessing.

$5.00 off one TABOO or one PICTIONARY Game

You should be able to print each of these coupons twice. The game coupons are good through 3/3/13, but there is a chance their print limit will be reached by then, so if you want one of these high value coupons, print them now.

What are your favorite games to play as a family?

We are totally hooked on Carcassonne at the moment. It’s not aimed at young kids but they do have a slightly simpler (but still looked fun) Junior version.

I LOVE Scrabble but someone thinks he has a disadvantage not being a native English speaker. I think he’s full of baloney but we usually don’t play it together *L*

I have never heard of Carcassonne. I will have to look it up.

I wonder if you could play bilingual Scrabble. 🙂

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
