Do you ever have more spaghetti sauce leftover than you have noodles? Here are recipes that you can make with leftover spaghetti sauce.

More Ways to Use Up Leftover Spaghetti Sauce

I also made scrambled eggs with Italian Seasoning and then topped them with leftover Spaghetti Sauce.

I mix together all the leftover tomato based products in my refrigerator when making Miracle Leftover Chili. Each version tastes slightly different, but all have an interesting, complex flavor!

When I am short on tomatoes, I add a 1/4 – 1/2 cup of spaghetti sauce to Minestrone Soup to thicken the broth and add flavor.

Use up to 1 cup of leftover spaghetti sauce to replace the tomato paste in Swiss Steak.

My oldest son makes his own simplified version of Chicken Parmesan. He takes a leftover chicken breast, pours spaghetti sauce over it, sprinkles cheese on top, then microwaves it on high for 1 minute or until it is heated all the way through.

When I was a kid, my mom often made Pizza Toast for breakfast. You can use any type of bread product (bagel, English muffin, leftover French bread, or sandwich bread). First, toast the bread. Top the toasted bread with spaghetti sauce and sprinkle with cheese. Place them on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 5 –7 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

Why can I not figure out how to make enough noodles to perfectly match the spaghetti sauce? I always seem to have one or the other leftover! How do you use up leftover spaghetti sauce?

Good ideas Alea. I’ve never made Catalina dressing but I’ll be trying it now. 🙂

I love this! I have some leftover tomato sauce in my fridge right now. Usually I just freeze it for another day of spaghetti. I’m going to try out the Baked Chicken Parmesan. Thanks!

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
