I finally captured a butterfly on a Butterfly Bush! We have a dozen Butterfly Bushes scattered through out our backyard and they do attract butterflies, but I never seem to have my camera when the butterflies are visiting. When I was watering yesterday, I noticed a few butterflies, dropped the hose and ran for my camera. Fortunately, this glutonous little Swallowtail was still drinking the nectar when I returned: Here is the butterfly from another angle: Is there a photo that you long to capture, but still alludes you?

Lovely captures! Glad you finally fulfilled your desire. There are two photos that allude me: the little geckos that run around our house and only show up in the evening when the light is bad for taking a photo, and the choir of toads somewhere out back that I hear after the rains but never see. 🙂

You were lucky. I have some very pretty ones around, but they just be still long enough to get a picture. You did very well with yours.

Pogonip- My Rose of Sharon is just starting to bloom, so I am planning on stalking the hummingbirds that it attracts. 🙂

It's been a swallowtail summer this year. They don't loiter long enough for me to snap their photo. I really wish I could capture one of a hummer visiting my tiger lilies!

Patience is a virtue. With talent and a little luck these pictures of a butterfly were captured. Good job!
