Don’t let the rainy weather get you down! This easy Paper Plate Umbrella craft is a fun way to teach kids about the weather and the letter U.

Don't let the rainy weather get you down! This easy Paper Plate Umbrella craft is a fun way to teach kids about the weather and the letter U.

“Rain, Rain go away! Come Again Another Day!”  This popular children’s rhyme is still one I say myself when the days turn cloudy and rainy. One thing to keep in mind though, is a rainy day is a perfect day for doing fun activities like crafts. This letter u craft is a fun little Paper Plate Umbrella and it doesn’t require anything but a bit of imagination and some construction paper and glue.

If you are teaching about the letter U, this is a neat little craft you can do, too. While this one calls for markers, you could use anything you have at home such as glitter, ribbon, and puffy paint. If you have kids of an older age, you could do this as a fun way to talk about weather systems and the water cycle. So pull up a seat and create this adorable umbrella craft!

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
