If you’re like me and love letting your slow cooker do the heavy lifting for hearty, budget-friendly meals, then you’re in for a treat. I’ve rounded up all our Crock Pot and slow cooker recipes that feature beef—from roasts and bones to ways to make the most of those flavorful cuts. These are perfect for busy days, meal prepping, or stretching your groceries further. Each one includes simple ingredients and step-by-step directions on the site. Let’s dive in!

Slow Cooker Pot Roast Recipe – This is one of my go-to favorites for a tender, fall-apart roast with just three ingredients. Use a chuck, cross rib, round, or rump roast for best results—it’s low and slow magic at its finest.

Slow Cooker Beef Broth Recipe – Don’t toss those roast bones! This easy method turns them into rich, homemade broth that’s perfect for soups, stews, or freezing for later. Add veggies like carrots and onions for extra flavor.

Slow Cooker Barbecue Beef Recipe- Shredded beef roast cooked in your Crock Pot with V-8 juice and barbecue sauce makes for delicious pulled beef. Great on its own, in sandwiches, or stuffed into baked potatoes like in this post.

Bonus tip: If you’re batch cooking ground beef, you can brown several pounds right in your slow cooker on high for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally. It’s not a full recipe, but it’s a handy way to prep hamburger for tacos, chili, or casseroles ahead of time.

These recipes are all about making the most of what you have while keeping things simple and delicious.

This is my take on Anna Thins orange ginger cookies. It’s my first attempt at converting a recipe to gluten-free. What do you think?

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
