This week April and I  are featuring two healthier recipes:  Sugar and Spice Roasted Shrimp and  Pasta Primavera with Vegetable Noodles and Vegan Alfredo Sauce. We thought these recipes would be a delicious way to start the New Year without endangering any resolutions you have made.Sugar and Spice Roasted Shrimp Recipe
Sugar and Spice Roasted Shrimp from Girlichef – a delicious combination of sugar, garlic, and spices coat these roasted shrimp. This recipe was part of a campaign to raise awareness for Meals on Wheels – an organization that I have had the privilege of  participating in as a driver.
Vegan Pasta Primavera
Vegan Grain-Free Pasta Primavera with Alfredo Sauce  By Lauren of  Oatmeal with a Fork for Whole New Mom – so much delicious healthiness! I love how Lauren created “noodles” from eggplant. It is such a healthy and easy idea to implement.

The Gallery of Favorites is a place for you to feature your favorite posts from your own blog. Although April and I both spend a lot of our time writing about food, we do have many other interests and we know our readers do as well. The Gallery of Favorites is a place for all bloggers – not just food bloggers – to share their ideas, interests and passions.

Thanks for hosting, even through the holidays when we were all so busy! Nice that things are getting back on track now. I’m looking forward to checking out the posts.

This week I’ve shared my veggie ramen recipe. It’s my way to sneak a little extra nutrition into my meatatrian’s diet. Enjoy!

The shrimp look – and sound – so good. I’m hoping…trying… to eat more ‘real’ food this year.

Yum, great recipe features this week!
I had a bit of catching up to do, so I hope you don’t mind that I’ve linked up two recipes and a list of my top 12 from twenty-twelve.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
