Miriam Barton, author of Meatless Meals for Meat Eaters, is guest posting today.

Hello Everyone!

I would like to thank Alea for giving me the chance to tell you all about my newest cookbook Meatless Meals For Meat Eaters.

This is a collection of vegetarian recipes that people who eat meat, or those adjusting to various forms of vegetarianism, can really latch onto. The flavors, textures, and ingredients in the book are very common to people who regularly enjoy hearty and filling meals and the recipes are very easy and simple to prepare.

I have not just created this book for the stalwart vegetarian. So many people who eat meat say that they would eat less if they knew how to prepare a few meals a week without it that their family would enjoy. These recipes are to help people do just that, prepare meals that are filling, delicious and nutritious without the meat.

Over the past year and a half I have been sharing meatless recipes on my blog Meatless Meals For Meat Eaters (named after the book). Here are a few links to recipes on my blog that I was able to share from my cookbook:

Fresh Tomato Sauce

Vegetarian Quinoa Jambalaya

Homemade Veggie Burger Patties

If these recipes sound good to you (and believe me, they are completely delicious), then you will love my cookbook Meatless Meals For Meat Eaters! It is being sold in bookstores across the country (you can order it at your local bookstore if you don’t see it on the shelf), as well as online at barnesandnoble.com, amazon.com, walmart.com, and deseretbook.com.

When you incorporate several meatless meals into your diet you will feel better, have more energy, and save money on your grocery bill. Join me in the journey of enjoying meatless meals and being very satisfied with what you eat!

Miriam Barton is the author of the cookbooks “The Pioneer Cookbook: Recipes For Today’s Kitchen,” as well as “Meatless Meals for Meat Eaters”.  Her third cookbook,  “The Healthier Side To Sweets”, is due to be published in 2012.

I have always liked your thinking about meatless being for everyone. We all have options and your book certainly helps us get where we want to go.

Congratulations on your new book, Miriam. I’m looking forward to reading it.There are some lovely recipes featured here in this post, and I know your blog is a great resource for meatless meals too.

I think that becoming a vegetarian can be so daunting that some people decide it’s all or nothing, but like you, I firmly believe that simply reducing the meat we eat is a valuable contribution to not only our own health but also the environment.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
