Gallery of Favorites
April of The 21st Century Housewife and I would like to welcome you to our weekend blog hop: Gallery of Favorites!

This week we are featuring three entries that feature an item made from scratch: Homemade Red Wine Vinegar, Homemade Mayonnaise, and Homemade Harissa Paste.

Jen, of Jen’s Natural Kitchen, shared her experience with making Homemade Red Wine Vinegar. I love the idea of making my own vinegar!

Laura. of Mom Essential, shared two vairations for Homemade Mayonnaise – Spicy or Mild –  both look delicious!

Elsa, of Elsa Cooks, shared her recipe for Harissa Paste. I predict we will see some delicious uses for this in the future!

The Gallery of Favorites is a place for you to feature your favorite posts from your own blog. Although April and I both spend a lot of our time writing about food, we do have many other interests and we know our readers do as well. The Gallery of Favorites is a place for all bloggers – not just food bloggers – to share their ideas, interests and passions.

Thanks for hosting Alea. I like the made from scratch theme very much. Good idea!

I’ve linked my Farmstead Waffle recipe this week. It made these waffles using leftover whey from my homemade yogurt.

I’m looking forward to exploring this week’s links. Thanks again for providing the opportunity for me to share my recipes.

    Hi Alea,

Love your made from scratch theme this week 🙂

I’ve linked up two recipes –  Peach Mango Creamsicles, healthier and better tasting than commercially produced ice cream bars. Plus Frozen Yogurt Tahini Banana Bites with Recipe Round Up. Love a yogurt tahini banana combo!

    Have a great week!

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
