Mason Jar Spill Proof Cups

I love the idea of taking mason jars and turning them into spill-proof cups . Visit The Chick n Coop, where you will find a comprehensive tutorial showing you how to make your own Mason Jar Spill-Proof Cups.

The only change that I would make to this system is to use Stainless Steel Straws because I prefer to use reuseable items rather items that have to be replaced.

Isn’t the point of the spill-proof cup that it’s won’t spill if it is, um, DROPPED?

    • We tend to have more cups knocked over rather than dropped. We use glass glasses and haven’t had one broken. My children were nursed, but when they did have a bottle I used glass bottles and never had one break.

I don’t intend to use these just for kids. We live in the country, so a cup with a lid keeps flies and dust out of our drinks when we dine outside.

  2. I love this idea, thanks for sharing the link!

  3. I’m liking this idea way much! So much, I’m heading off to write a blog post about it before I even make it. How’s that for lazy? Now I blog about the things I HAVEN’T done!

I tried using the rubber grommets and had a problem finding straws that would easily go through the hole. I drilled a hole and then took a tapered drill bit and hit it with a hammer a few times to get the size of the hole just right. I am very happy with the finished product! Very cute! :)

  5. Make some of these for my son & his friends this weekend. Great way to put to use some jars & other things I’d normally throw out!
