    Upcycling is using things you already have around the house and transforming them into amazing creations! You would be surprised at how many awesome upcycling ideas there are floating around the Internet. Just Google “upcycling projects” and your computer screen will be flooded with fresh and creative ideas. I’ve put together a list of 10 of my favorite projects that I’ve spotted so far for you to look over.

    Upcycling – I’ll have to remember that term. I always called it repurposing, but then maybe that’s different. We do that a lot around here. The two most recent ones was upcycling the old electronics cabinet into a storage for my food photo props, and transforming the butcherblock from the old kitchen into my photography table. On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
