DIY Minecraft Soap is almost as much fun to make as it is to use, it looks cool to the block loving set and smells great while getting kids clean.

how to make diy minecraft soap

I don’t know about your house but in mine, I have a Minecraft addict, if you are reading this chances are you probably have one too. When I can pry him away from the game and into the tub I wanted to give him some good clean fun in a theme that he loves.

DIY Minecraft Soap Tutorial

I had square ice cube molds laying around and thought they would make the perfect Minecraft block shaped soap. I used kids safe ingredients such as natural mica powder for color. You can add whatever essential oil you like to scent the soap, lavender if you are wanting to induce sleepiness, mint to sharpen their mind, or maybe cedarwood for a more grown-up scent.

Supplies:

  • Glycerin soap base
  • Peppermint essential oil
  • Dark green mica powder
  • Light green mica powder
  • Brown mica powder
  • Square silicone mold
  • Wooden craft stick for stirring
  • 3 Glass bowls

Directions:

  1. Cut your soap base into squares roughly 1”x1”. For my molds and the ones I linked above it takes about 4 of those for each block of soap you want to make.
  2. Divide your soap squares into 3 separate bowls, you want to put the majority in one bowl, a little less in the next bowl, and just a couple in the 3rd.
  3. Melt soap in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring each time, it should take about 1 minute.
  4. Remove from microwave and stir in about 4-8 drops of peppermint or your choice of essential oil into each bowl.adding essential oils to minecraft soap recipe
  5. Quickly stir in brown in the bowl with the most, dark green in the bowl with the next smallest amount, and finally light green in the bowl with the least soap mixture until you get the shade of color you desire.
  6. Pour dark green mixture into your molds evenly.
  7. Pop into the fridge for 5 -10 minutes, until top begins to solidify.
  8. Next, take your light green and heat in the microwave the same way you did the brown.
  9. Pour over brown and place back in the fridge to set.
  10. Heat the dark green, stirring until melted and then pour into the mold and place in the fridge to quick set for 1-2 hours.minecraft soap in a mold layers
  11. Carefully remove soap from the mold.
  12. No special instructions to store, just keep dry when not in use.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
