You get a wonderful scent and gentle cleansing with this Homemade Lavender Baby Wash and none of the scary unpronounceable ingredients.

Homemade Lavender Baby Wash- This DIY baby wash contains natural ingredients and has a mild lavender scent. It's also quite easy and inexpensive to make.

If reading the back of the bottle from your store-bought baby wash makes you want to skip the baths altogether, have no fear. It is easy, inexpensive, and even fun to make your own. Also, you control the ingredients.  We leave out things like artificial color, scent, and drying alcohol to create a gentle and effective homemade baby wash that you and baby will love. It requires just a few ingredients. Always be sure to use 100% pure therapeutic grade essential oil (no matter the brand) to put together this Homemade Lavender Baby Wash for little ones.

Use the tutorial below to make a batch of baby wash. We use a small amount of lavender because it is a calming scent, you can leave it out if you wish. However, if you want to add other essential oils, please do your research first. Some essential oils, such as lemon oil, make the skin more sensitive to the effects of the sun and increase the chance that your child will get a sunburn.

Look at the expiration dates for the individual items. I find the one that has the shortest expiration date and use that as my guide.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
