10 Delicious Spinach Recipes- These spinach recipes include everything from kid-friendly muffins to hearty lasagna. There is also a tip for storing spinach.

Spinach isn’t just for Popeye! It happens to be one of my very favorite ways to jazz up recipes and add some dark leafy greens to my dishes. Spinach is usually pretty low priced where I am at, but when it goes in season, it is really cheap! The great thing about spinach is that it’s so full of iron and magnesium that it can really boost everything from smoothies to casseroles. It has a pretty mild taste, too. If you find yourself with a lot of spinach and need to use it up quickly (because it tends to go bad fairly quick) here are some spinach recipes as well as a trick I use to store my spinach so it stays good longer!

How to Store Spinach

Most people store their spinach in the bag is comes in or another zipper style plastic bag. I prefer to store mine in a reusable glass container lined with paper towels. This almost always ensures that it stay fresh for a week or longer. Leaving it in a plastic bag allows too much moisture to stay in, in my opinion and I end up with wilted greens in just a couple days. Try this trick to see if it helps you! Also, make sure to dry your spinach after washing it before placing it in there.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
