Free haircut at Great Clips when you donate your hair to Locks of Love

My daughter decided to donate her hair to Locks of Love last weekend. I thought she was getting a trim, so I didn’t take a before picture. The above picture was taken after she had over 13 inches cut from her hair.

Locks of Love is a program that takes donated hair and makes high-quality hairpieces for disadvantaged children with medical hair loss. You can  visit Locks of Love for details about minimum hair length and other donation requirements.

We went to the closest salon and were surprised to find that Great Clips does not charge for haircuts if you are donating your hair to Locks of Love. My daughter was quite pleased with the haircut that Stephanie from the Spanish Springs Great Clips gave her. The fact that the hair cut was free was an added bonus!

Participating Great Clips give free haircuts to customers who donate their hair to Locks of Love. Participation varies, so call your salon to make sure they are involved in the Lock of Love donation program ahead of time.

Have you ever donated your hair?

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
