The best window cleaner that I have found is eco-friendly and very inexpensive! I make it at home using:
1/4 cup vinegar
1/2 teaspoon liquid soap
2 cups of water
Add ingredients to a spray bottle. Shake to blend.
Spray the solution on your window and wipe off with an old fashioned cloth diaper (they are often sold as burp cloths now). The cloth will not leave any fibers on your window like paper towels do.
Are you obsessive about having perfect, streak-free window? Probably not, but I used to be. Here’s a tip to track down where the streak is a little faster: Use the cloth to remove the window cleaner using a vertical motion on the outside of the windows and remove it using a horizontal motion on the inside of the windows. It makes it much easier to figure out where the streak or spot is with this method.

I've also used newspaper for both windows and mirrors–it gets the glass a little more sparkly than anything else I've tried!

Thank you so much for the window cleaner recipe. I can never find my window cleaner when I need it–it seems to walk off in this house–with this recipe, I'll just whip up my own cleaner and stop stressing.

Great tip! Cleaning windows is not my favorite thing to do, but this helps.

I usually swipe newspaper from the recycle bin to clean windows since it doesn't leave fuzz… I'll have to try the cloth diaper thing!
