Today is National Doughnut Day. The first doughnut day was created by The Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the women who served doughnuts to WWI soldiers. The holiday now falls on the first Friday of June.
Doughnuts are one of my favorite desserts to make because they are so fast and easy to make. They cook in less time than it takes to make cupcakes. And you can get away with sprinkling them with sugar or pouring a glaze over them while they are still warm. There are no long waiting times before you can dive into a batch of doughnuts!

Do you have a recipe for a gf plain donut? Something similar to the raised/glazed kind like Krispy Kreme?

This is a lovely site – I often find myself doing exactly what your blog name says making premeditated leftovers 🙂 this is a good collection of donuts – I have yet to try my hand at making them – studiously avoiding the calories, but these are tempting me and I am sure my son would be super happy if I were to make them 🙂 Following you now – Would love to see you on my blog as well – Cheers, priya
