The weather is still a wee bit chilly outside so that means there is plenty of time to make these 10 Free Kid's Scarf and Hat Knitting Patterns!

In a previous post, I did 10 free kid’s scarf, hat and mitten crochet patterns, and if you were waiting for the knit version, wait no longer! I found some of the best free knit patterns for you to try your hands at. Here are 10 free kid’s scarf and hat knitting patterns to make while it’s still frosty outside.

10 Free Kid’s Scarf and Hat Knitting Patterns

This cute Minecraft Creeper Hat from Five Speckled Eggs is perfect if your kiddo is into the game. I love the style of this one!

For the little fashion diva, this Little Sophisticate Cowl Scarf from Red Heart Yarns is perfect. I love the grown-up look with a kid flair of this style.

This Bashful Bear Kit Hat is so cute! This one also comes from Red Heart Yarns. It says this pattern is tough enough to stand up to washing and drying as well.

I really love this adorable set of a hat and scarf from Ella Rae Seasons called the Seasons Hat and Scarf. It looks super warm!

Knitting Minnesota has a very awesome Fiery Dragon Scarf to knit for you. I think it’s pretty awesome!

Another great scarf for little fashionistas is this Bow Scarf from Little Inspiration. I love all the different color combinations she made this one in!

This kid’s sized Girlie Ruffle Scarf is really cute! This one comes from Red Heart Yarns.

My very favorite hat on this entire list comes from Knitty. She made this Fish Hat in several colors, and it’s just too cool!

This silly Scrappy Gnome hat from Bespoke is another favorite of mine. What kid wouldn’t want a hat like this one?

The Swirled Ski Cap from Craft Yarn Counsel would look great in a variety of color combinations or made with multicolor yarn.

Which is your favorite from this list? Let me know which ones you are excited to do in the comments!

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
