Besides a knitted sweater, a pair of knitted socks is a classic thing to make for all knitters. Many new knitters perfect their skills by making various socks and slippers and when you get it down, there is nothing better than slipping on a pair of socks that you made fresh off the knitting needles. If you are looking for some new socks to give a try, check out these 10 awesome free knit sock patterns!

If you are a fan of yoga or know someone who is, you will love these Knit Yoga Socks from Yarn Inspirations. These are not only perfect for yoga, but great for wearing around the house for days when you are feeling lazy, but it’s too hot for full socks.

Strick Praxis (a german site with an English pattern) has a great pattern for a pair of Cable Cross-Country Socks. These look so warm and cozy!

Another great pattern from Yarn Inspirations is this set of Pedicure Socks. This is perfect for spring! They just have the toes hanging out so you can get your pedicure and go.

These Mitered Square socks from Kathleen Taylor’s Dakota Dreams are perfect for a tween or tween or maybe even yourself if funky is your style!

All About You has a nice lacy Diamond Panel Sock Pattern to try out if you prefer your socks to be more dainty. These are great dress socks.

My favorite socks on this list are by far these Patchwork Circle Socks from Schachen Mayr. I have never seen anything like them and they seem so fun!

I love the texture of these Circle socks by Jf Campbell. They look so neat and I would love a pair myself. This is probably more for an intermediate skill level.

Toe socks are fun to wear and here is a great Toe Sock Pattern from Unicorn Patterns to make. Make a rainbow of colors!

If you are making your first pair of socks, try making this Super Simple First Socks from Dechon’s Designs.

Are you a Twilight fan or do you know one? Make these Twilight Book Cover Socks from Chicken Betty!

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
