If you are one of those people who always feels short on time, take a look at this list of 30 Things You Can Do in 15 Minutes or Less.

Do you often find yourself using the excuse that you just don’t have time? Many people do. This excuse keeps us from getting the things done that we wish to, and we therefore fall short of our goals. If you are one of those people who always seems short on time, take a peek at this list of 30 things you can do in 15 minutes or less. You will be amazed at how much you can fit into the span of 15 minutes!

30 Things You Can Do in 15 Minutes or Less

1. Walk a mile. Walking at a steady pace you should be able to comfortably walk a mile or more.
2. Read a chapter of a book. If there is a book you have been yearning to sink into, you only need 15 minutes to catch a chapter at a time.
3. Make your own cleaning products. It takes less than 15 minutes to mix white vinegar, lemon juice, and baking soda to make your own chemical free kitchen cleaner.
4. Hang dry a load of laundry. It takes about 15 minutes to hang a load a laundry which can include 7-10 shirts, a few towels, and perhaps a pair or two of pants. This 15 minutes worth of work can save you big bucks too!
5. Give yourself a massage. Invest in some massage oil and work it into your hands, arms, and legs for some soothing sore muscle relief.
6. Meditate. Play some soft music and sit in a comfortable position. Reflect on your hopes and dreams and let your mind and body relax and recharge.
7. Take a power nap. Set a timer for 15 minutes and go to a quiet spot where you can close your eyes. This 15 minute rest can be quite invigorating and fuel the rest of your day!
8. Plan a mini herb garden. Get some fresh herb starters and a window planter. Add some soil, add your plants, and in about 15 minutes you have a money saving herb garden at your finger tips!
9. Change your passwords. Protect your identity by going through all of your accounts and changing your passwords.
10. Write  letter to a loved one. 15 minutes is all it takes to write a simple greeting and send it off.
11. Read a book with your child. This can be a welcomed relief after a busy day. In fact, it may be the most important 15 minutes of your day.
12. Write in a journal. Spend a few minutes reflecting and goal setting in a journal daily.
13. Clean out a drawer. Toss away any clutter and organize the items that are in it. Do this daily and in a week or so you will notice a difference!
14. Toss expired food. Take a few minutes to check expiration dates on food and give your fridge a quick clean out.
15. Call your favorite company and request samples and savings. Do this daily and the savings will add up.
16. Look over your bill statements. Look for any errors or any areas where you can reduce your spending.
17. Play with your pet. It is a wonderful way to bond and help them get exercise.
18. Pick some flowers or outdoor branches to arrange into a vase. Fast, frugal, and fun home decor!
19. Give yourself a mini facial with a store bought face mask.
20. Call a friend or family member and let them know you are thinking about them.
21. Comb through the Sunday paper and cut out any coupons you can use. Who doesn’t love extra savings?
22. Take the survey on the back of receipts to be entered into contests and score extra savings on future purchases.
23. Keep your mind sharp by playing a jigsaw puzzle or word scramble.
24. Change your furnace filter so it runs more efficiently and you save cash.
25. Make your own infused water with water and some fresh cut cucumber or lemon.
26. Do some basic sit ups and push ups to help strengthen and tone your muscles.
27. Write your child a note. Hide it in their lunch or school bag.
28. Do something artistic. Draw a picture, sing a song, write poem, just get the creative juices flowing.
29. Make your own face mask by mixing a soft avocado, a banana, and a little olive oil in a bowl. Apply. Wait 5 minutes, and rinse.
30. Go on a mini date with your spouse. Grab some beverages and enjoy a slow dance to a song or two.

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
