Creative Ways to Gift Money

Money is a wonderful gift to give, as it gives the recipient the gift of choice. Many people prefer to give money these days (and many love to receive it), but don’t exactly like to just toss it in a card and call it day. They want to put a little more effort into their gift giving and offer some presentation to their gift. If you are one of those people, you might be wondering how you can creatively gift money. Take a look below at 7 Creative Ways to Gift Money so you can really wow your recipient.

7 Creative Ways to Gift Money

1. Frame it.
Buy a dollar store frame and frame the money so the face of the president is showing through the glass. This is a whimsical way to gift money and the recipient has the frame to use even when the money is spent.

2. Make it bloom.
Fold the bills into a fan and pinch the center with a pipe cleaner. Ruffle the bill to look like a flower and place the pipe cleaner stems in a dollar store vase or flower pot. You can even add silk leaves if you wish. These are flowers everyone will love to get.

3. Just add air.
Roll the money up and place it inside of a balloon. Then add either air or helium to blow the balloon up. Add the ribbon and gift your recipient the balloon with the money inside. They will have to pop it to get to it!

4. Add a big bow.
Place the money in a card and envelope and treat the envelope to a nice huge bow. It makes the envelope more like a gift. You can even add some confetti inside of the envelope that falls out when they open it.

5. Fold it fancy.
There are many money folding tutorials online so you can turn your dollars into various origami shapes. Fold the bill into one of these shapes, place in a box, and wrap for presenting. Your recipient will no doubt be impressed.

6. Turn it into a bow tie.
Fold the bill like a fan and crimp it in the middle with a paper clip or string to turn it into a bow tie. You can then find a picture of the recipient and tape the bow tie on. This adds a little humor to the gift which they are sure to appreciate.

7. Hide it!
Fill a small box with packing peanuts and hide the bills inside. Wrap the box and present it. Your recipient will get a kick out of digging for what’s inside.

Giving money doesn’t have to be boring. Give these creative tips for gifting money a try so you can add a little charm the next time you give cash.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
