7 Tips For Packing Your Suitcase Efficiently - Tips for getting more in your suitcase by packing efficiently and strategically.Traveling by yourself or with your entire family can be a stressful time to prepare for, but these 7 Tips For Packing Your Suitcase Efficiently will help make your prep much easier. Not only will you be able to fit more into your bags, you’ll be able to access what you need quickly and easily. These tips apply to any travel whether overnight or for a month long stay. Packing everything appropriately is important for your stress free travel.

7 Tips For Packing Your Suitcase Efficiently

Use Ziploc bags. Gallon sized bags are an excellent way to pack your suitcase. Whether you use them only for toiletries, or you pack your clothing in them, they are easy to move in and out of your bags and will help save space. If you find the vacuum seal variety, they are even better since you can use your vacuum to help decompress the air in them before packing and make a bit more room in your luggage. These are especially help for packing kids suitcases. Pack each days outfit into a baggie (shirt, pant, underwear, sock) and then into the suitcase. All your kids will need to do is grab one bag and have everything they need for the day.

Roll your clothing. If you aren’t using the bag method of packing, rolling your clothing instead of folding will make a lot more room in your luggage. Roll like outfits together so they are easy to grab and go, or use one side for tops and one for bottoms.

Stuff items inside shoes. If you are packing an extra pair of shoes in your luggage, use them to store things like jewelry, scarves, socks and other small items. Use all available space to make the most of your luggage.

Pack mix and match clothing. Even though you may want to pack a dozen different sun dresses, you really need to be packing your suitcase efficiently. That means packing items that mix and match easily to create multiple outfits. Solid colored bottoms, camisoles, tanks and cardigans that mix and match easily with few select patterned blouses are the best way to go. 5-7 items can then turn into 10-15 outfits with ease.

Streamline your beauty routine. Instead of taking all of your makeup drawer just in case, streamline your beauty routine. Take your facial wash, a moisturizer, and an all in one foundation and powder. A simple eyeliner or mascara and lip gloss, and you have a pulled together look that will slip into one small pocket of your luggage.

Pack dual purpose products. Two in one shampoo and conditioner products, body washes or similar are great for travel purposes. While not what you would use every day, they save room and are easy to pack.

Wear your jacket instead of packing it. This is especially handy if you are flying. Jackets, cardigans, and sweaters take up a lot of room in your suitcase. Pack items for easy layering, and take only a lightweight cardigan or jacket that you can wear as you run through the airport. You can slip it off and hang over your shoulder bag or tie around your waste if needed. Airports and planes tend to be chilly anyway, so you may be wanting it even in the midst of the summer heat.

These tips for packing your suitcase efficiently are sure to keep your next trip stress free!

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
