Who says that you have to spend big bucks to impress Mom on Mother’s Day? Moms don’t want expensive gifts! They just want to be remembered and appreciated. So instead of heading to the mall, take a look at this list of 75 frugal ways to enjoy Mother’s Day for ideas. You can still make Mom feel like a million bucks without spending a lot of money. 1.  Pick some native wildflowers. Put them in a mason jar or wrap the stems with twine.
2.  Visit a local park or nature reserve.

4.  Plant a package of spring bulbs for her.
5.  Fly kites together. Make them yourself if you are so inclined.
6.  Enjoy a free or inexpensive concert at a local park, high school, or college.
7.  Buy some canvas and paint together.
8.  Bake her some homemade bread, cookies, or a cake.

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
