Check out these tips on how to get free gift cards to spend on everyday expenses.

Gift cards can be a great way to save money on everyday expenses if you know how to get free gift cards from using apps, taking surveys, and more.

Gift cards are something you either love to get as a gift or dislike, but no matter what, they can really be used for things other than the obvious. Since gift cards can be used to save money, you may want to consider trying to earn some so you can save money or just shop for free! While you can get gift cards as gifts, there are also some ways to get gift cards for free now as well on sites doing various tasks. Here are some tips for how to get free gift cards.

How to Get Free Gift Cards

Sign up for rewards programs – Many people know that Ibotta allows its users to cash their earnings in Paypal, but did you know you can also get gift cards? There are gift cards available on the redeem page where you can cash out for gift cards from Walmart, Amazon, and more. You can also get rewarded on other apps for playing games, watching videos, and even reading emails. Check out MyPoints, APP Trailers, and Gift Wallet.

Take online surveys – There are lots of online survey sites that allow you to make money by simply providing market researchers with information, mostly about your shopping habits. It can sometimes a while to build up earnings this way, but if you do it in your spare time, your earnings can add up to some great gift cards.

Join online focus groups – I have belonged to a couple of online focus groups that rewarded for minimal participation. I usually only had to engage in one forum-style conversation or answer short surveys that were only a couple of questions each month and I got $5-$20 Amazon gift cards for my thoughts. Pay attention to social media for when they are looking for panelists as many times, I have found out about them by friends sharing. You can also sometimes find them by simply Googling “focus groups for gift cards”.

Get involved in Twitter parties – Twitter parties and any social media for your favorite brands usually give you a pretty good chance of winning some gift cards. You can find them by following blogs, your favorite brands, or by simply looking at trending or popular tags on twitter. A Twitter party is basically a conversation on Twitter with a brand using highly influential social media folks to host it and play some games or answer questions. You won’t always get a gift card with this way, but you sometimes have a good chance and the gift cards are often higher value.

Switch Pharmacies – For a long time, pharmacies have offered gift cards for switching where you get your scripts. Usually, it’s a small $25, but I have seen it as much as $75 or even $100 in gift cards for switching. Just make sure you read the fine print. Often, because of federal regulations, you can’t be rewarded if your primary prescription insurance is Medicare or Medicaid.

Buy gift cards to get free ones – Gift Card Granny gives you points when you buy gift cards on the site that you can redeem for more free gift cards!

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
