Hooked On DVD Binders

I am always looking for ways to organize and make the most of our limited storage space. We have accumulated quite a few DVD’s, though the pace has slowed down considerably since we joined netflix. The DVD’s were kept in a linen closet, along with games and art supplies, so there wasn’t much room for linens. I was actually considering buying a coffee table that could double as DVD storage when I discovered DVD binders.

I picked this DVD binder up at Walmart for $9.96, which is considerably less than a new piece of furniture. I chose brown because I wanted something that would blend in with coffee table when the kids left it out.

We have only filled one third of the binder and have already tossed a large trash bag full of DVD cases. The garbage men haven’t come yet, so if anybody knows of a great use for DVD boxes let me know!
The DVD binder fits in a cabinet of my entertainment center along with family scrapbooks. I am amazed that a shelf of DVD’s can be reduced to one binder.

Melissa, DVD's and computer games are next!

Lori, We lived in a very old house in Virginia and I am ashamed to say that I used the lack of closets as an excuse to acquire antique wardrobes. Of course, our house was a favorite place to play after the Lion, the Witch, and teh Wardrobe came out in theatres. 🙂

Thanks Rebecca and Claudia! Thanks for visiting and thanks Rebecca for coming back after your workout!

Lifesignatures, Yes those are CM scrapbooks. I haven't done much scrapbooking since Rew became mobile. Right now I mostly use the punches to impress him with my ability to make shapes of all colors. 😉

Are those creative memories scrapbooks? I have a ton of them before I started blogging! Wish I could back to scrapbooking. And I like the dvd binder too!

What a super fun blog you have here! I loved scrolling through your whole first page of posts.

Nah, the grocery sack idea wasn't a letdown. Yes, the garden is gorgeous. And oh, my! Love your DVD space reduction, but there's something about tossing the cases that scares me. But then, years ago when I asked my mom to help me clean out my stash of boxes, she said, "I'm not the one to help you with that– I have a bit of a box fetish, too!" 😉

I'm tempted to keep clicking, but NOW, I must go hop on the treadmill before the kiddos arise.

I love hearing organizing ideas like this. We live in a 100 year old farmhouse and we are very limited on space. No linen closets here. In fact, there were NO closets at all here for many years! Years ago, people just hung their few clothes on a hook. 🙂
I also loved your tissue box idea!
And while I'm commenting, your garden is looking great! I'm envious of your pears. The frost killed our blossoms this spring…every one of them! Oh well…maybe next year. 🙂
    Have a happy day!

Great idea! We use a (much less attractive) case to store the discs for computer games. It helps the computer area from looking cluttered with all the game packaging.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
