Rent a suite for privacy. Sometimes cramming the entire family into a small hotel room leaves little room for romantic encounters. Splurge a little to rent a suite with separate bedrooms, or a condo that allows for privacy. Not only does this give you safe and private time for intimacy, it may give you a private bathroom with a balcony or Jacuzzi tub for date nights in after the kids are asleep. Order up room service of some sparkling beverage, fruit, or chocolates for a fun special romantic dessert in your private room.

Dinner, dessert, coffee or a night of dancing are all fun options to include romance on your family vacation.

Pack love notes in each others luggage. As you prepare for vacation, include some love notes in your spouses luggage to surprise them throughout your trip. Leave little notes reminding them of how much you love them, and telling them those little things you love the most about them.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
