How to Organize Your Scarves

With winter in full bloom, I have seen a ton of scarves making their beautiful debut on the necks of young and old alike. Summer, winter, spring and fall brings all sorts of scarves in every color imaginable. With all the beautiful scarves that we have to accessorize our outfits come another problem all together. How do you organize your scarves? They can quickly accumulate on top of dressers, or be thrown in the closet and scattered though out the house. Now comes the time to organize your beautiful scarves before the mess gets out of hand.

How to Organize Yours Scarves

Hangers– Clothes hangers are a great place to hang your scarves and if you attach shower hooks to them it can help keep them tidy and neat. Shower hooks are fairly inexpensive and easy to put on. Tie you scarves on in a knot to keep them from sliding off.

Shoe organizer– Shoe organizers can hang on the back of your bedroom door or closet and keep your scarves neatly tucked away and easy to get to. Try rolling your scarves before you tuck them away inside to keep them from getting all wrinkled. A clear shoe organizer would work much better as you could easily see the scarves without digging.

Drawer – Throwing your scarves into a drawer may not be the best bet because you will end up with a big old knotted up mess of clothes that you don’t even want to try and dig through. Try using old toilet paper rolls or PVC piping and hot gluing them together with the opening of the hole pointing upward. This will help keep everything neat and organized and within plain site.

Display on the wall – Scarves are absolutely beautiful and could make a great display on your wall. No need to spend extra money on decorating if you make your room bright and pretty with your own accessories! The little Command hooks are easy to put up and can be moved around quite easily without marking up your walls. Pick one wall and just hang them in a haphazard way all over the wall for a beautiful display.

On shelves– If you have plenty of shelves in your house you could display your scarves in pretty baskets or bowls adding a pop of color to your decor. Again you may want to roll your scarves to keep them from getting all wrinkled and messy.

Coat hooks or wrack – There are plenty of coat wracks or hooks on the market that could hold your scarves and again it will add a great pop of color to any room.

There are plenty of ways for you to organize your scarves and display them nicely throughout your home. The main thing you want to keep in mind when organizing your scarves is to take care of them. Keeping them rolled or folded nicely will help keep them from becoming tangled and snagged. When hanging scarves watch where you hang them to keep them from getting snagged on nails or pieces of furniture with sharp corners. Do not ever hang them in the sun or near a heat source as this cold cause major fading of the fabric.
