There is a 14-year gap between my second youngest and my youngest child. During that gap we bought grown-up furniture, not knowing that we would be blessed with a bonus baby. I would be lying if I denied thinking about the fate of my furniture while expecting Rew. We now have a delightfully messy two-year-old and I try to balance his desire to explore with my desire to protect our belongings.
Beige, cloth seats? You know we were not expecting any more children!

Looks like you have done a good job protecting your chairs. You are right. It's just furniture and children grow up quickly and leave home! Our Bonus Baby (# 4)was only 3 years younger than his brother.

C-re, I have really been trying to get some of my friends to blog about some of their great ideas. This is an example: One of my friends bought plastic by the yard and used a staple gun to tack in down underneath the seat(she did it to all of her kitchen chairs). My chair seats over hang the frame, so it wouldn't have worked for my style of chair.

Love this! I wonder if you could just buy the plastic off those rolls at Walmart in the fabric section? Maybe cheaper?
I'll have to look into this since I have a 2 yr old myself and 2 woven seats on those stools I bought. I've been putting a towel down when they eat there but plastic might be better…hmmm…

I think I need the protective covers for myself. I'm as messy as any two year old!
