When you live in a winter wonderland it would be crazy to go on vacation elsewhere in December.

Today we went spent the afternoon sledding on a hill near our house. I picked up the sleds for $1.00 each at a local thrift store a couple years back. Lots of frugal fun was had by all!
sledding1 I love the expression on their faces as they come down the hill!

I love staycations. Even more though, I love living at the beach in sunny Florida!

I do love "visiting" the snow through everyone's blogs and your photos are just delightful, looks as though a good time was had by all.

Happy New Year to you and yours.

It looks like everyone was having fun sledding. And wow what a deal you found on the sleds. I wish you and yours all the best in 2010. Happy New years.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
