10 ways to introduce the letter E to your child through fun games and activities, crafts, books, printables, and food.

Welcome to another week on this introducing the letters series! This week, we will look at fun ways to engage and teach the letter E. Included is a list of crafts, recipes, printables and even books you can use in your home. Everything is easy and sure to be lots of fun!

10 Ways to Introduce the Letter E

Crafts:

This fun Eggshell craft with the Letter E from A Mom with a Lesson Plan is not only a great craft but an awesome sensory activity!

Make a super sweet Elephant mask from paper plates from East Coast Mommy.

Printables:

When I was a child, we had something similar to this Miss E coloring page from Brilliant Beginnings in kindergarten! I loved it then and your kids will, too.

Here is a whole slew of Letter E Worksheets for free from Kid’s Activities Blog. There’s tracing, coloring and recognition!

Outdoor/Indoor Fun:

If you happen to have one of those fun pop-up tubes for kids to crawl through, why not do a simple E is for Enter and Exit activity from Brilliant Beginnings? This is great for cooler days when you need to do something active inside!

This Monster sensory tub from I Can Teach My Child is perfect if you use it as E is for Eyes! I just love this idea!

Books:

The Ear Book by Al Perkins

Emma’s Eggs by Margriet Ruurs

Edward the Emu by Sheena Knowles

The Eensy Weensy Spider by Mary Ann Hoberman

Recipes:

Why not make some Elephant Ears? These are just another name for fry bread, but most kids will love that they are called that instead!

If your child likes eggs and can have them, then make egg salad sandwiches one day and let them help you. What kid doesn’t love smashing up the eggs?

More letter E fun:

Another Monster “eye-dea” is this cute E is For Eyes craft from Snails and Puppy Dog Tails with hand prints and Goggly Eyes.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
