There are several variations of critters that can be made from these supplies. This tutorial will show you how to make a ghost, Frankenstein, and of course a pumpkin!

Instructions:

  1. For all of these critters, your first step will be painting the cork in the appropriate color. Your ghost will be white, your pumpkin orange, and your monster will be green. Add two coats and allow to dry.Halloween Cork Critters Craft for Kids painting
  2. Once your glue is dry, you can add your googly eyes. Just add some glue and press into place. It’s really easy! Next, you can add your marker features. For the ghost, this included a dot mouth. For the pumpkin, we crafted a face using assorted shapes, and for the monster we added some hair and a stitch mouth.Halloween Cork Critters Craft for Kids Frankenstein
  3. Just add marker features of your choice to make the face come to life. You can add as little or as much detail as you wish.
  4. Finish off your Halloween cork critters with any pipe cleaner accents you wish. For our pumpkin, we snipped a small stem and stuck it into the top of the cork.Halloween Cork Critter Craft for Kids pumpkin

Your Halloween cork critters are now complete. Kids can use them as puppets or you can put them on the end of a chopstick and add them to plants. However you decide to put them to use, they are a frugal way to have some Halloween fun.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
