This Apple Cinnamon Trail Mix Recipe is the perfect blend of salty and sweet and doesn’t contain candy.
We do a lot of hiking in the warm months and snowshoeing in the winter. I like to bring granola bars and trail mix to snack on while we are out. I created this Apple Cinnamon Trail Mix which is sweetened with Apple Cinnamon Cheerios and dried apple chips instead of candy.
This trail mix recipe is very flexible!
If you don’t have Apple Cinnamon Cheerios, then substitute Pumpkin Spice Cheerios or Cinnamon Cheerios.
I use dry-roasted nuts because they are less greasy than nuts that were roasted with oil. You can use salted or unsalted or a mix of both. If you or someone in your family does like almonds, peanuts, or cashews, then substitute them with your favorite nuts.
If you don’t have dried apple chips, feel free to substitute whatever dried fruit you have on hand.
