Do you love the combination of chocolate, caramel, and pecans in traditional Turtle candies?  If so, you are going to love this Patriotic Rolo Pretzel Turtles Recipe.  The sweet and salty combination blended with the chewy and crunchy sensation make for a delicious treat on the 4th of July!

This dessert is a quick and easy no-bake treat that is sure to be a hit with friends and family!  These Rolo pretzel turtles are topped with red, white, and blue candy melts and then topped with patriotic sprinkles.

This treat can be made gluten-free by simply using gluten-free pretzel twists. It can also be made nut-free, by using M&Ms in place of the pecan halves.

You can make them a day or two ahead of your party, just store them in a sealed container at room temperature. You don’t want to store them in the refrigerator because it can make your pretzels soggy.

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
