Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Frosting
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour*
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Stir in milk and vanilla. Gradually add in flour. Stir in chocolate chips. Spread over cooled brownies.
*You can use GF all-purpose flour in this recipe.
Peanut Butter Frosting
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup butter, softened
3 cups powdered sugar
1/4 – 1/3 cup milk
In a mixing bowl, beat peanut butter, butter, and powdered sugar together. Stir in milk until the mixture reaches the desired spreading consistency. Spread over cooled brownies.
You can melt 1/4 cup of semi-sweet chips with 1 tablespoon butter and create a pretty zig zag pattern by drizzling the chocolate over the frosting.
Mocha Fudge Frosting
6 Tablespoons coffee
6 Tablespoon butter, softened
6 Tablespoon cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups powdered sugar
Combine coffee, butter, cocoa, and vanilla; mix well. Slowly add powdered sugar; beat on med. speed until well mixed. If the frosting is too thick you can add a little coffee or milk, if too thin add more sugar. Spread over cooled brownies. I like to spread chopped pecans over the frosting.
Cinnamon Cocoa Frosting
6 tablespoons butter, softened
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup milk
Combine butter, cocoa, cinnamon, and vanilla. Alternate adding powdered sugar and milk. Beat until it reaches a desired spreading consistency. Spread over cooled brownies.

Honeysuckle, The flour bulks it up, makes it smooth (without making it too sweet like powdered sugar would) and makes it taste more like cookie dough. I am hoping to try using this to make homemade cookie dough ice-cream this summer.

Joyce, I am sorry it has taken me so long to respond; I am on Pacific Time. The Choc. chip. cokie dough icing calls for 1/2 cup of brown and white sugar. You can lick the bowl, because there is not egg in the frosting. 🙂

Yum. I made homemade brownies with fudge frosting the other day for a church dinner. So good! The peanut butter frosting would have to be my next favorite!

I usually am too hurried or lazy when I make brownies so I pour chocolate chips on them when they come out of the oven, then stick them in the refridge to cool them but the cookie dough recipe was intriguing. Is the flour in it just to bulk it up enough for frosting consistancy? Thanks for sharing. Have a happy day!

Back again with a question about the cookie dough icing. It says sugars but there is only brown sugar listed so I assume this is the only sugar and no white sugar? Yes I am in the kitchen already making these:) I just know that I am going to be licking the bowl on this one:)

My mouth is watering already! The chocolate chip cookie dough frosting looks the best, but the others sound pretty great, as well.
