Make a meal plan for breakfast and batch cook it. Many people make weekly meal plans for their dinners and lunches, but breakfast is often not even a thought in these plans. If possible, make planning breakfast a priority and do some batch-cooking ahead of time. Simple batch cooking you can do for breakfast includes cutting up fruit, making overnight oats, and hard boiling eggs.
Change your mind about what breakfast is. Breakfast does not have to be eggs, bacon and pancakes. It really can be anything-including dinner leftovers or even a quick salad. If one of the reasons you don’t eat breakfast is because you don’t like typical breakfast foods, then change the rules.
Make quick breakfasts easy to make and take with you. If rushing out the door every morning is part of your routine, make portable breakfasts such as smoothies with supplement powders added, sandwiches, and even parfaits made with fruit, oats, or quinoa. These are foods you can eat when you get to work. You can also make a special drawer or bin in your fridge full of grab and go options like fruit, protein bars, and more.
Skip hitting the snooze button. Let’s face it; we all probably hit the snooze more than we should. Instead of snoozing that extra 10-20 minutes in the morning, go to bed 20 minutes earlier and make getting up a priority so you can fit breakfast in. Most breakfasts, even more complicated ones don’t take any longer than 10 minutes to make!
Use your freezer. I like to utilize my freezer for breakfast options. I put together smoothie packs in there for the week so all I have to do is grab and blend. I also like to make breakfast sandwiches ahead of time so I can easily grab one to heat up.
