My kids love this spicy glaze and told me that I needed to share it.
Although this recipe calls for pear sauce, I should note that it could be made with applesauce instead. In fact, I did make my ham glaze with applesauce for years, but the last time I made it I had an open jar of pear sauce and used it instead. We preferred the milder flavor of the pear sauce combined with the spices, but if you don’t have pear sauce, please just use applesauce!
I make both my own pear sauce and applesauce. They are made without sugar and I add spices. If you use store bought, I recommend using sugar-free, cinnamon flavored sauce. If you use a plain pear or applesauce, I suggest increasing the spices a bit to add more flavor.
I served the ham with Glazed Carrots and Peas with Green Onions and Basil.

I don’t know if I have ever had pear sauce, but it does sound interesting as part of this glaze. The glaze sounds fabulous and perfect for the ham. Hope you and your family have a Happy New Year!
