When I share pictures of my son, he is often wearing Gymboree clothing. Some of my six year old’s Gymboree clothes are hand me downs from my 20 year old…and they were worn by 3 other boys before they were finally passed back to my youngest son. I have often wanted to break down my strategies for saving money on Gymboree clothes, but haven’t had the time, so I was happy when Katie offered to do it for me!

9 Ways to to Save Money at Gymboree - tips and strategies to help you save on your kids' wardrobe.

We all know that children’s clothing can be quite costly. If you really want to dress your children in apparel that is quality made and made to last, you may find that it is going to cost you a little bit more out of pocket. Gymboree is one of those retailers where the clothing is of higher quality and made to withstand hours of playtime. However at first glance, you may experience some sticker shock. Well worry not. There are plenty of ways that you can save when buying children’s clothing at Gymboree. Below, you will find nine ways to save money at Gymboree while still getting clothes that are stylish and durable. If you love to dress your children in quality clothing but want to stay in budget, take a look below at how easy it can be.

1. Get on Gymboree’s mailing list.
Visit Gymboree online or in store to get signed up for their mailing list. This way you will be notified of any sales taking place and even receive coupon offers. You can also “like” them on Facebook so information appears in your daily newsfeed. Or if you wish, Gymboree also has a snail mail list you can sign up for so savings arrive in your mailbox. Whichever list you decide to get on is up to you, but the point is get on a list!

2. Shop during “Gymbucks” promotional periods.
Gymboree offers “Gymbucks” promotional periods where with each $50.00 you spend, you will then receive Gymbucks good for $25.00 off your next $50.00 purchase. These Gymbucks are only spendable during a certain time period so watch for expiration dates! This promotion is offered about six times a year so be sure to be aware of when it takes place and save. (Alea’s note: You can ask the store you shop at to put you on their phone list and they call you when the big sales are occurring).

3. Make use of Gymboree’s price adjustment policy.
At Gymboree, if an item you purchased goes on sale within 7 days of you purchasing it, bring your receipt to the store and you will receive a price adjustment. So easy!

4. Be a friend or family member of a Gymobree employee.
Gymboree offers a Friends and Family event certain times of the year and when they do, you can receive 30% off of your purchase! Keep your eyes peeled for this event as 30% is a significant savings.

5. Find those clearance racks.
When you visit a Gymboree store, be sure to head to the back where the clearance items tend to be. If you don’t see any clearance items ask, as sometimes not all of the clearance items are put out on the sale floor. (Alea’s note: My favorite Gymboree store is very small, so they have a tiny clearance section. But if I tell one of the employees what size I need, they will go to the stock room and bring out clearance items in my son’s size).

6. Wait it out.
Gymboree is great about running sales and promotions, so no matter how adorable something looks to you, wait on buying it until it is on sale. It will be well worth it and you can save as much as 30% off.

7. Use the Gymboree Rewards Card
Being a Gymboree Rewards member has its perks! For example when you sign up to be a member, you’ll earn 1 point for every $1 you spend. You will also earn members only discounts, and have early access to events. New members are also receiving at this time a free single class pass to Gymboree Play & Music and a $5.00 rewards certificate for every 250 points earned.

8. Shop at the Gymboree outlet stores.
Gymboree does have outlet stores where items are significantly reduced. The best part is you can use your Gymbucks and Gymboree Rewards card at these outlets too. This means savings on top of savings! Visit their website to find a location near you.

9. Stack your savings.
Last but not least, (Alea’s note: this is actually the most important part!) stack your savings!  During a promotional period, you earn Gymbucks and rewards even when you buy sale and clearance items. And when you redeem your Gymbucks or your rewards, you can use them on sale and clearance items. Many of the coupons can be applied to sale and clearance prices. When you stack your savings you can buy great quality kids clothing for outrageously low prices.

As you can see, there are plenty of ways to get more for less when shopping at Gymboree. Speaking of getting more, did you know that Gymboree clothing tends to command higher prices at consignment stores than other children’s clothing brands? Because of this, Gymboree is a great investment since you can get top consignment dollar after your child outgrows their apparel.

Find clothing that is stylish, durable, and now affordable when you shop at Gymboree using these money saving tips!

Welcome. I'm Alea!

On Premeditated Leftovers I share simple recipes made with whole foods, practical shopping tips, time saving techniques, and meal planning strategies. I also share tips for minimizing food waste, so more of the food that is purchased ends up on the table.

While volunteering as a budget counselor, I realized that food is the element of most people’s budgets where they have the greatest control. I set out to develop low-cost recipes from scratch to prove it’s possible to create delicious meals on a limited budget. Eating well while spending less is about more than just creating recipes using inexpensive ingredients; it’s about creatively combining ingredients so you don’t feel deprived and are inspired to stick to your budget.
